This week I have been thinking a lot about procrastination. This is when we repeatedly put something off whether this is because of a lack of focus, self-confidence or anxiety. Procrastination can be very frustrating and yet at times we find ourselves allowing ourselves to be side-tracked when we have something far more important to achieve. One might also make excuses to avoid starting an important project until the time and circumstances feel ‘just right’.
So how do we stop procrastinating once-and-for-all?
Overcoming procrastination is about enabling ourselves to truly focus on the priority and take immediate action. You must understand your motivation and the benefits of getting this task done. You can start by making a to-do list with items you have been avoiding and allocate time slots in your diary to get these done. Break large goals into smaller actions to help you get started.
